Steve Sabol Please Help to Improve the NFL Network (NFL Films)

An open letter to Steve Sabol & NFL Network employees to vastly improve the NFL Network."GAME OF THE WEEK" "TEAM YEARBOOKS" "WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS"Steve Sabol (along with his father Ed) and crew have been successfully documenting the NFL since the early 1960s. Almost none of these great shows are shown on the NFL Network. These shows include the team yearbook highlights (of all teams, not just Super Bowl contenders), Game of the Weeks (especially from the 1970s and early 1980's), the weekly highlights shows such as "This Week in Pro Football," "This is the NFL" "Pro Football Playback" and "NFL Review and Preview" and even Pro Bowl highlights. Please add these shows to the NFL Network on a daily basis. A two or three hour block each day would be great!Example, we are subjected to Total Access 7-10 times a day, instead if you are going to call the 1976 Buccaneers the 2nd worst team of all time (Top 10 -- Worst Teams), how about showing the actual 1976 Buccaneers highlight film so we can get a better understanding of just how bad the Buccaneers were in their inaugural season. THE "NEWS" SCROLLI can't stand the news scroll chopping off the bottom of every show on the network. Here are some simple rules when deciding to use the scroll. 1. Decide if the program is a news program or an entertainment or historical film program. If it is a news program use the scroll, I'm watching your network for news. 2. If it is a classic game broadcast, Top 10 show, Film Session -- DO NOT USE THE SCROLL, I only notice it as an annoyance to the program I'm watching. A see-through logo in the upper or lower corner, ok, just not the scroll. 3. If there is a live game taking place on another network, use the scroll.CLASSIC GAMESPlease dig much deeper to find great games, go back to the 1970's games on CBS, NBC or ABC. I would like to see the Jim Hart led Cardinals in an original NFL broadcast. Also, please stop chopping off the moments before a commercial break where the graphics show the score and have some last second commentary by the announcersGREATEST GAMES SERIESIf the actual television broadcast does not exist, then reconstruct more games for your greatest games series. I believe a lot of radio broadcasts exist from the 1970's and possibly 1960's that could be used to reconstruct great games with NFL Films material. Many great games could be reconstructed, such as the 1972 game between the Jets and Colts where Joe Namath throws for just short of 500 yards in a 44-34 Jets victory. This game is significant in that two Hall-of-Fame quarterbacks had possibly their last great games as players together (Unitas passes for almost 400 yards). NOTE: This game was a Game of the Week in 1972, ESPN Classic use to air it, but in the four years I've had the NFL Network I've never seen a Game of the Week from the 60's, 70's or 80's shown. MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL (OR ANY ORIGINAL NFL BROADCAST FROM THE 60's, 70's and 80's)I don't understand how this was never thought of by an NFL Network programmer. On Monday nights not during the NFL season, show old Monday Night Football Games. A good number of Monday Night Games do exist on film dating back to the very first one between the Jets and Browns in 1970. These games had a national audience, hence a lot of people may remember them. AMERICA'S GAMEI do enjoy this series, but why stop at just the Super Bowl Teams and a few "Missing Rings" shows. There were plenty of great or interesting seasons I would like to see recapped on this series. The teams don't have to have great records to have interesting stories. Call it America's Game -- Special Seasons. I would like to see other seasons recapped such as: 1976 Bucs, 1975 Cardiac Cards, 1980 Cardiac Browns, 1975 Worst to First Colts, 1987 Saints (1st winning season), MVP Players and their teams seasons, the woeful 1973 Oilers. BOX SET DVD'SIf the NFL Network has no intention of showing these great programs, then please make available affordably priced box set DVD's. Example, Green Bay Packers video yearbooks DVD (1960-1980) for $19.99. The 1973 Season of "This Week in the NFL" (all weekly & post season shows, including the Pro Bowl) for $19.99. 1976 season of Game of the Weeks for $19.99. I'm aware NFL Films sells individual films for $55. That is not affordable for the common NFL fan. Sell individual films on ITunes or Amazon for $1.99 a show. Place all seasons of team yearbooks on Hulu.com, not just a select few. Consider new NFL CLASSIC NETWORK for these great shows.ODDS & ENDSArena, College or High School Football and Chearleading Shows, please not on the NFL Network.Hardknocks, I don't really care for it, but somebody might.
