Sports Update: New York Giants signs offensive lineman Shawn Andrews

The New York Giants have signed offensive lineman Shawn Andrews, who was a two-time Pro Bowl selection with the Philadelphia Eagles. Andrews missed the entire 2009 season and played just two games in 2008 because of back issues. He was released by the Eagles in March. Andrews was a Pro Bowl alternate in 2005 and earned Pro Bowl honors each of the next two seasons, but a herniated disc in the second game of the 2008 season kept him out the rest of the year. After surgery, he suffered a setback in training camp last summer and missed the entire 2009 campaign.
