With just two preseason games remaining, the San Francisco 49ers may be about ready to unleash running back Frank Gore.
49ers coach Mike Singletary suggested Tuesday that Gore could make his 2010 debut Saturday against the Oakland Raiders.

"It's possible,'' Singletary told the San Jose Mercury News. "I think it comes down to timing. When you have a very good runner, you want to be careful. But at the same time, you don't want to limit him too much.''

Gore is healthy, but the 49ers have held him out of the first two exhibitions. Still, with a young offensive line, it could be about time for the 49ers to see how well the blockers and their primary runners mesh.
